Dante’s Inferno

Inferno Icon

Enter Dante’s Inferno

Take an interactive tour of Dante’s vision of Hell. This page is an illustrated companion to the poetic masterpiece including artwork by DorĂ©, notes from the Ciardi translation, insights to characters and events, and basic maps to each circle. I designed this also in Flash and hope that it can be used as an aid for teachers who use The Inferno in their classes; actually, I have had quite a few requests for just that. (Note: there is no circle for misspellers, forgive the errors.)

This is one of the best Dante resources I have ever found. The kids love it because it makes the story easy to understand. They can organize their thoughts and ideas better. Job well done! Thanks for providing such a great resource!

Is there any way you can post this virtual tour (which my colleagues and I have been using for a few years now) to a non-blog web host? Our students were able to access it at school when it was posted on a university website, but they cannot access blog pages through our filter. We love your design and the information you’ve included and want to keep using it for years to come!
